I cried after the final whistle blew tonight.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t cry because of the result (cos after what seems like 100 odd years I\u2019m used to England being gallant losers), but because I saw an inconsolable Bukayo Saka being embraced by his family and friends, and I knew what was going to happen next.<\/p>\n

Just in case you weren\u2019t aware, Bukayo Saka is the young man who missed our last penalty.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s just 19.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s also the same age as my son who I would do anything to protect.<\/p>\n

The relevant difference between them isn\u2019t that he missed a penalty in the final of a football tournament.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s because he\u2019s black.<\/p>\n

And he\u2019s being abused on social media BECAUSE he\u2019s black.<\/p>\n

And this abuse happens because racist cunts exist on Social Media.<\/p>\n

And they\u2019re allowed to exist because they aren\u2019t challenged enough.<\/p>\n

But yeah, let\u2019s boo players for taking the knee to highlight racial injustice because\u2026 (insert your shit reason for booing it here).<\/p>\n

And the FA will issue a statement condemning the racists.<\/p>\n

And our shithouse government will issue a statement condemning the racists.<\/p>\n

And society at large will say: \u201cIt\u2019s not us, we have black friends so we CAN\u2019T be racists.\u201d<\/p>\n

But society at large is full of enablers. And hypocrites. And cowards. None of whom will call out the racist cunts when they encounter them.<\/p>\n

But I do.<\/p>\n

Always.<\/p>\n

And if I do, maybe it\u2019s time you did too.<\/p>\n
